Are we fooling ourselves ??!!!

Generally discussions regarding religions or our believes are less encouraged. As an individual living in this world, we talk about everything in between the sky and the earth and sometimes even beyond that. We start planning for our retirement life even when we are on our twenties. We are so futuristic that we always think about how to better plan our career, marriage, children, home, investments etc, but let me take you to another important think that we all knowingly ignore through out our life.

It's sure that we will die one day. Nobody is exempted from this. This thought might have come to everybody's mind at one occassion or another, but we usually ignore it, rather we don't like to think about it more because we are afraid of it or we think it's too early to think about it. Anyways it's a reality and we all are going to die oneday and nobody can predict when it will be. We have to leave all that we gain in this world here itself.

Is our life going to end with death? Most of us believe No and God has planned something for us in the life hereafter. (If you say 'Yes', then this post is not for you, we can discuss about it later). We all wanted to be treated good there. So how better prepared are we for our death? How have we coined our concepts and believes about the life after death? (Its actually extends to the life in this world also because I believe our views about the life here after actually determin the way we live here in this world). Have we ever tried to evaluate our believes in the light of our wisdom? Have we ever listened to what others have to say about our believes or their believes?

So far as I know, there is nothing other than the religions that talk to you regarding your life after death and most of us claim to follow one religion or another. But, are we ever tried to evaluate our believes in the light of atleast our commom sense? If you do so, I am sure that most of the rituals we do or the believes we are having can't be justified even by our common sense. Whether your brain can believe that adding one more letter to your name can help you to get immense wealth? or the planets moving around can really affect your married life? Or the God himself is sitting at some locations in this earth and he will only listen to you if you pay a lot of money and take a ticket and see him?? (that too even getting the ticket in black?? !!) whether God will be really happy if you pour milk and ghee over him?? Whether somebody who had done some good deeds and died before hundred of years can listen to what we ask them and will they justify all our sins in front of God?? list continues..

So.. this post is a call to rethink about our believes. It's our life and nobody will be there with us in the life here after. All the money, pride, relatives etc that we had in this world is going to end with our death. Why we wanted to give priority to the pleasures of this materialistic world while choosing our believes rather than at least our own brain. Why are we fooling ourselves???
